God, Guns, and Planned Parenthood

When it comes to Isis, Obama says it’s not really about guns – it’s primarily about ideologies.  However, when it comes to active shooters in America, Obama says it’s not really about ideologies – it’s primarily about guns.  Really?  Time to get on point Mr. President!  In both cases, guns are the primary issue.  Furthermore, in both cases, “more guns” is part of the solution to such violence.

Sensible gun laws are something all of us agree with.  Truth is, the legislation that POTUS and the left talk about won’t do anything to stop the next active shooter.  Of course, POTUS loves to opine as if he’s an expert in matters of gun violence, but his rhetoric begs the question; “who are the experts on gun violence?  Academics?  Psychologists?  Pastors?”  Sure, they can each bring a perspective to the table, but when you really get down to it, soldiers and marines are the real experts on gun violence.  Ask any general, any paratrooper, any marine; “Is ‘more guns’ an adequate response to violent people with guns?”  Answer, “You bet.”  When it comes to stopping violent people, more guns always works well.  Just watch the way Putin is going to handle the situation in Syria (I’ll resist saying more as this is the topic for our next blog).  Liberal response—eye roll followed by a condescending comment like, “Oh… that’s nonsense.”  Response to the liberal response, “Saying that’s nonsense is nonsense!”

If every classroom had three or four, salt-of-the-earth, hunt-every-season, concealed-carry-boys (and/or girls), then active shooters would do far less damage.  In places where concealed carry is allowed, it’s likely that most active shooters would be capped as soon as they pulled out a weapon and started running their mouths.  For this reason, active shooters go to soft target areas also known as “gun-free-zones.”  Wake up America! If there is any lesson that should be learned from these unfortunate events, it’s a lesson that the left needs to learn, namely, gun-free-zones are not safe-zones!!!  Rather, they’re hope-you-can-run-and-hide-zones.  As has often been said, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”  The time is coming when reasonable people will no longer listen to the left’s “almighty government” mantra.  Government can’t protect you in situations like these.  In situations like these, if you ask me to choose between trusting the U.S. Government or trusting God and guns… I’m going with God and guns every time!

Lastly, liberal Christians usually come unhinged by such comments.  That’s fine!  Let’s double down and go at the heart of the argument.  Liberals are proud of the “civility” of Planned Parenthood, but embarrassed by gun ownership in America.  Liberals are OK with dismembering babies in order to make a profit, but they’re uneasy with the average American citizen being armed in order to help defend the public from violent criminals and deranged active shooters.  And one more… liberals will not politicize Planned Parenthood, but they will politicize gun ownership.  During his comments on the Oregon tragedy, POTUS threw out a challenge to “tally up the number of Americans who’ve been killed by terrorist attacks over the last decade and the number of Americans who’ve been killed by gun violence, and post those side by side…”  I’ll raise you one Mr. President (and NBC), tally up the number of Americans who’ve been killed by gun violence in the last decade, and the number of Americans who’ve been killed by Planned Parenthood!!!

Americans killed by Planned Parenthood in a decade — 5, 160,000*

*According to the Planned Parenthood website, “Planned Parenthood services help prevent approximately 516,000 unintended pregnancies each year.”  You better believe, “Each time this happens, I’m going to bring this up!”
