Iranian Endorsement

Just decided to pull this quote out. The article is almost 7 years old, but it speaks volumes about the mess we are in today. When I first read it in 2008, I said to myself, “this is a quote worth saving for the later portion of the Obama presidency.” Here’s the remark as reported by Ali Arouzi – then producer for NBC who was covering the 2008 US election.
“Iran’s political circles are also watching closely. A government official who spoke to me on condition of anonymity said, ‘Of course we want Obama to become president, but we are also being very careful not to endorse him – as an Iranian endorsement might have an adverse effect on his campaign.'”
