The Courts & Conservatives

In my recent article with IJ Review, I address the need for the American people, and especially their elected leaders, to stand up to the tyranny of the courts. This is an item that Justice Scalia hit on powerfully in his dissenting opinion to the 2015 same-sex marriage ruling. For years now, one could see this battle with the courts coming. Back in 2012, I wrote;

“If the courts feel they have the right to ignore the voice of the people, then it is only a matter of time before the people will begin to ignore the voice of the courts. When that time comes, the courts will have themselves to blame.” From Essay 6 “A Government of the Courts for the Minority,” in Reformation in Responsibility, page 43.

    Justice Scalia is probably the last true defender of the people, his stance against gay marriage is right on. The courts have overstepped their authority, especially the SCOTUS, here we have 3 justices who say they vote their party line. The SCOTUS is supposed to interpret the constitution of the U.S. not what there party wants. When the people have enough, look out, it will be lawlessness across the land and the courts hold the entire blame. May God help this once great nation to return to its roots.
